Girl in a jacket
CaveLabs is a Norwegian deep-tech company built on two decades of simulation engineering. We're now applying that expertise – plus a research background in computational neuroscience (MSc, King's College London; dr.philos. research, NMBU) – to understand complex dynamical systems, from energy infrastructure to the human brain.

Driven by Bio Inspired AI

From energy systems to neural systems – we model what makes complex systems tip from normal to abnormal.

Two Decades of Simulation Engineering

From CO2 well-control systems to neural dynamics, we've spent 20+ years building simulation software for complex, safety-critical systems

Biology Meets Dynamical Systems

Our research applies rigorous sensitivity and stability analysis – tools built for engineering – to understand why some genetic mutations cause severe disease and others don't

Real Systems, Real Stakes

Whether it's an energy system or a nervous system, we build tools for domains where getting the dynamics right actually matters

healthcare
Why do two similar genetic mutations sometimes lead to wildly different disease severity? Our research project, Compass Multiscale, analyzes how a genetic variant's effect changes as you move from a single neuron to a full neural network – pinpointing exactly where a mutation starts to become dangerous. Our first case study: a variant linked to a severe childhood epilepsy.

We've applied the same systems-modeling approach to energy infrastructure – including simulation tools for CO2 well control, where understanding a system's stability isn't optional
